Other Income Questions

This page asks you to provide information about the people in your household who get money from somewhere other than a job or self-employment.

 

Some items have an asterisk (*) next to them, indicating they are mandatory. You must fill in these items before you can continue to the next page.

 

For each category, select the household members that fit the scenario.  If the category does not apply to anyone, check the No one box. You cannot select No one in addition to a person.

 

Definitions of Income:

 

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) - SSI is a monthly payment for people with very low incomes who are at least 65 or blind or disabled. SSI is not a retirement benefit and it is not the same as Social Security. Check the box for anyone who gets SSI.

 

Social Security - Social Security is retirement payments, survivors' benefits and some disability payments from the federal government. Check the box for anyone who gets Social Security.

 

Unemployment Compensation – Unemployment compensation is any money that substitutes for wages or salary, paid to recently unemployed workers under a government- or union-run program.

 

Worker’s Compensation – Worker’s compensation is a form of insurance that provides compensation for medical care for employees who are injured in the course of employment.

 

Child Support Income - Child support is the money that is received for children from a parent who is not living in your home.

Contribution from Friends and Family – Contribution is any money that is received from a friend or family member and repayment is not required or intended

 

Veterans Benefits – Veteran benefits are any payments made by Veteran Affairs to veterans or dependents of veterans.

 

Other Income - There are many other types of income that the people in your home may have such as Adoption Subsidy, Roomer or Boarder, Trust Income or other sources. Check the box for anyone who gets money from any source other than a job or any of the income types listed above on this page.
