Here are some tips for using this website.

On each page, answer the questions the best you can. If you're using this website for someone else, answer the questions as if you were that person.

You'll see some questions with an asterisk (*) next to them. You must answer these questions before you can go on to the next page.

Please do not use the Forward, Back or Stop buttons on your browser. Instead, use the buttons at the bottom of each page. You can click on these to move between pages:

Next		Click the Next button when you are finished with a page and ready for the next set of questions.
Previous		Click the Previous button if you need to go back to a page to change your answers.
Exit		Click the Exit button to return to the homepage.
Save & Exit		When you're using Apply For Benefits, you'll see this button at the bottom of most pages. Click this button if you would like to save your application and come back later.
Submit		When you are finished filling out all your information and are ready to submit the application, this button will submit your application to DCFS for further processing.

Along the way you'll see these items, too:

Help		Click the Help button if you have a question about what we're asking or if you don't know how to answer a question.
FAQ		Click the FAQ button for answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
Progress Bar		The progress bar shows you how close you are to completing your application.
Survey		Click the survey button at the end of the application to fill out a survey about the online application. The survey is optional and when the button is clicked it will open in a new window.
Print		Click on the print button on any page to print the page.
Add		Click on the add button to add additional information to the application.

System Time Out

After 15 minutes of inactivity this website will time out and you will lose any data on the current page. The system will display a 2 minute warning before the time-out occurs which allows the user to keep the system active.
